World Maths Day – Bangkok

Today (March 4th) is World Maths Day. I teach in an International School and before moving out of the UK I always wondered how International these days truly were. I suppose making it to Bangkok shows that they are, and I know looking at the site you can see the names of schools all over the world taking part in the activities etc. I have always wondered a little about how widely takenĀ  up it is. I guess there are stats for this somewhere, not being the Maths Coordinator at school means I haven’t read all of the literature that they produce and send out for schools that sign up for the day.

Still I’m left realising that schools elsewhere (at least ones speaking English) are involved, which when I’m back in the UK will make the day more interesting. Maybe it would be a good starting point for some International School pairing / twinning.
